X-Files

On Monday 14th - Loïc and Edouard presented to us the series X-Files. It's a science fiction series in which Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson), two FBI agents, are investigating on unsolved cases called the X-Files.

Unfortunately, I've never watched this series before and as we only watched a n special episode in black and white, I don't have a clear idea about the series.

This episode parodies the Gothic novel of Frankenstein, written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
Mary Shelley (née Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin; 30 August 1797 – 1 February 1851) was a British novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer, best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus (1818).

I enjoy the different crazy atmospheres , first the one referring to doctor Frankenstein with the claps of lightning, the musics and the way it's filmed. And then the ambiance when the monster was assaulting a woman at her home, with the psychedelic music and the lights. Even if I don't really like science fiction, I appreciated watching that.

Nevertheless, the two main characters weren’t as interesting as I expected. Here, I preferred the monster and the doctor. And then the special effects weren't very good, for example the monster’s face was a bit of a failure.

To conclude this series didn't convince me, but I'm waiting to watch a normal episode to really make my opinion about this TV show.
